What’s Your Favorite Portland Picnic Spot?
Yesterday the weather was scrumcious.
If these ideal conditions hold tomorrow (Saturday), me and the X-chromosomal unit are going to have a picnic.
The great old band War had it right. In the song “All Day Music,” they sang, “let’s have a picnic, go to the park, rollin’ in the grass ’til long after dark.”
With all our parks and natural areas, Portland is made for picnics, and the thawing days of April are a good time to start.
We have some ideas, but then again, your picnic preferences may differ.
So with picnic weather here, what’s your favorite picnic spot in or near the Portland metro area? And why?


I don’t know why this is, but Angel’s Rest in the gorge is ALWAYS packed with hot n’ sporty 23-year-old girls every time the merc cracks 70. Mostly the braided dark-haired kind. It’s pretty up there. Looking down on soaring turkey vultures shile attempting to look up REI hiking shorts is a beautiful and strange dichotomy.
