A Chinese Restauant I Can Trust

My buddy, Brian, first introduced me to Om Seafood. I’ve always found it as one of the few excellent chinese restaurants in Portland. Tonight was no exception. I asked Judy if she had her choice of Asian, what would it be? Amazingly, she chose Sichuan. Judy loves her sushi. Now, Om does not serve Sichuan, it is more Hong Kong style but it was good enough for me to drive the long way out SE Powell for dinner.

The salt and pepper prawns were delicate, the onions and peppers perfectly cooked with a crisp bite and that wonderful flavor of salty, spicy, peppery mix. The friend dumplings were a bit doughy. But, though the waitress did not recommend the Hong Kong assorted vegetables because they were very chinese, we loved the mix of tarot root, tofu, oyster mushrooms and cellophane noodles mixed in a light brown gravy.

Now, my next quest is to find world-class Kung Pao Chicken? Any recommendations?

Good sichuan is fantastic, and absent from Portland. Any ideas on finding that?
