One moment my husband and I sat on our patio enjoying a quiet post dinner chat and the next the sky lit up and the rain came down. We picked up our stray dinner dishes and headed inside to the rumbling and flashing of thunder and lightning and then the sky lit up to almost daylight proportions…

The house shook with thunder…

The thing is I had no idea we were in for a thunderstorm tonight. The forecasts have been clear and sunny as far as I could see. Is it just me or did I miss something?

It’s almost as elusive as a snowstorm, isn’t it? KGW said yesterday there would be the possibility.

I was glad to see our “One Thunderstorm of the Year”. I miss weather like this!!

You definately missed something. I’ve been hearing thunder storms for tonight all day. I watch channel 8. And Matt definately was warning about it.

I thought it was a landslide. I’ve never heard thunder for that long of a stretch.

We were getting home from dinner and drinks just when it started, so I immediately headed into the backyard and played ball with the dogs and when the rain started to pour just stood there barefoot in the grass, arms stretched wide, face to the sky until I was soaking wet.

    It was awesome.

That is the one aspect of Midwest weather I really really miss.

Y’all don’t pay attention to the local weather folks when your tax dollars are at work…

I danced in cirlces in it for a while just like I would do in Texas when I was little.

Thanks for the great weather links. I am not a tv news watcher.
