It’s In The Hands Of The Gods

At times in this blog I refer to Judy. We do just about everything together. Lke most couples, we’ve had our tough times, too. Judy moved to St. John’s last year. I moved to SE Portland. I love SE. It’s my neighborhood. My Portland roots are in this part of town. It’s partly why I did not move with her to St. John’s. I did not want to be so far from SE and St. John’s was just too far from the kids, especially without a car. We were having troubles, too. I was broke, trying to launch Podcast Hotel. I did not have work. It took its toll. I look back at that time and realize how much I needed to find a different way.

Now, almost two years later, Judy and I are still together. I have work and Podcast Hotel still has a future. Last weekend, Judy and I told the children we are getting married. Next week I move to Judy’s house in St. John’s. The wedding will be sometime next summer. I’ll miss my beloved SE. But I have a feeling I am going to dig North Portland. And now I have a car. Somehow, it seems, I found a new way or the way found me. I’m not sure. Judy would say it’s in the hands of the gods. It has been so wacky these past few years, I am starting to believe Judy is right. You just can’t fight it sometimes. It’s in the hands of the gods.

While it’s nice you’re getting married (and congrats), that alone isn’t worthy of a Metroblogging Portland post. Your moving is, or your wedding planning is, but the post you put here is a personal blog post, or a damnportlanders livejournal community post, it isn’t a post for Metroblogging Portland.
