When You’re Broke

A new hotdog/Indian/tacos/empanadas/mocha cart called Frankie’s Franks opened up the other day on the corner of SE Flavel and 72nd Ave. I get tired of the usual lunch places so thought I’d give it a try, being that they are so eclectic and all. I tried the $1.00 jumbo dog which wasn’t too bad, but am going to have to give the two for a dollar tacos a whirl. I just really liked the guy in the hot dog suit waving at people driving by. I sort of felt compelled to see what they were doing. I’ve decided I’ll have to work my way through their international menu of cheap eats. It’s a nice option when you’re down to using your change for lunch. Seriously, you can’t even get a dog at 7-Eleven for a buck anymore, and sometimes that’s where I’m at by the end of the month.

How does an Indian taste? Are they free-range Indians?

As a matter of fact, Indians taste rather like Pakistanis, though substantially less islamic. My great aunt Mary used to like them in fritters, but they were way too greasy for me and she usually burned them anyway. Nowadays, I prefer them in a nice spicy vindaloo. It just makes me feel so ethnic or something.
