TGIFootball! PSU’s First Home Opener is Tomorrow

It seems there might be a lack of sports coverage now that Russ (Rusty?) is no longer among the Portland Metroblogger. No worries, are you ready for some football?

I wrote a bit at the PDXPipeline about my season tickets (Daily Stank Image Bank: Portland State Vikings Tickets) and why I (and a lot of people) are very excited about this season (JERRY FREAKING GLANVILLE).

Anyway, here are two good places for you to get excited as well:

* Quick Edit: Sports Fan or not, the King is a fantastic writer. He’s in SF, went to Cal, writes for Salon.com, and once linked to my FootballPipeline (the glorious day as it is known in my world)*

First, at PDXMagazine.com, you can get a bunch of info, interviews, and breakdowns. Draw-back, they want you to register…but it was worth it for me (I’m already receiving mad spammage, so whatever).

The sad thing is they won’t win tomorrow.

Maybe I’ll eat my words come Sunday, but based on the webcast I watched of them last week… This won’t be a fun season.

We’ll see. It was not pretty and the main problem seems to be losing more than half of their defensive starters. JG is a defensive expert, so maybe he just needs a few games to get these guys adjusted.

Either way, I don’t think he’s leaving anytime soon and it is going to be fun to watch his caziness.
