Ah, the smell of damp wool
Just one of those things we can look forward to in the coming months. One realizes that fall and winter are just around the corner when the mall puts out the umbrella condoms for their patrons. Heck, I’m wearing a sweater for the first time in 5 months.
I’m not sad to see summer go. I am more glad to see fall arrive. I am excited for the smells, the colors, the dampness in the air. I am looking forward to picking up a pumpkin with mud covered boots with kids screaming and running around. I am actually excited for the first big storm, even though I didn’t finish my summer project and thing are now going to get wet. I’m excited for fall and winter. (See me in January to see if that excitement has waned or not.)
Farewell hot sun, see you in February for the false spring you always bring us.
