Picture this: you live in a typical neighborhood in the Portland area. You’re out gardening in your backyard one weekend when you notice your neighbor gardening as well. You happen to especially notice your neighbor is gardening naked! What do you do? Tell him to put some clothes on? Call the cops? Forget about it?

That’s the issue in Happy Valley ^[1] right now, according to The Oregonian ^[2]. A man by the name of Steven J. Howatt likes to garden in the nude. His neighbors are quite unhappy about it and the city is considering passing an ordinance which would “outlaw nudity visible from public locations.” They plan to hold a public forum on it tomorrow night.

A kicker on all of this is that it may not technically be illegal to garden in the buff here in Oregon, reports KGW ^[3]. Howatt himself seems not to like the proposed idea as well as those neighbors who’ve not addressed him directly about concerns over his naked gardening habits.

I could jump all over this and make bad jokes referencing vegetables and body parts, but I think we all have enough imagination to do that without wasting digital ink.
