My daughter’s school seems to embrace the whole Halloween spirit. They had a pumpkin patch, hosted a huge Halloween parade and the classrooms had parties complete with costumed little ghosts, vampires, ninjas and your stray princess. Plus for the first time in years we had more than just a handful of trick or treaters come to the house.

I must admit though I can’t wait until next year when it falls on Friday, it will be party time at the house of Kaos :)

This is my first Halloween in near-NE Portland. I was expecting a lot of kids, because the neighborhood is mostly made up of individual, family-type houses and slow residential streets. When 6:00PM passed and we had only seen one kid come by, I knew something was wrong. BY 8:00 we had a total of something like 10 kids come to our door. We had jack-o-lanterns out and everything, so it was obvious we were open for business. We took a walk around the block to see the neighbors’ decorations, and discovered that only about 1 in 5 houses had their lights on. PATHETIC!! Why does Halloween suck so much in Portland?!

We ended up going trick-or-treating with my niece and nephew and friends in Mayfield(Maywood?) Village and there were TONS of kids everywhere. Sugar rush for all!

Especially since my nephew doesn’t even like candy – all the more for auntie!

I live in Multnomah Village and we only had about 15 kids come to the house. I was bummed! I did get to see miniature version of the entire “cast” of the Fruit of the Loom ads which was great.

Harvest Festival, seriously? What is offensive about kids in silly outfits getting their sugar fix?

I had lunch at Rocco’s next to GI Joe and a male nun… guess that didn’t necessarily have anything to do with Halloween though.

ugh. totally taking my brood to Ladds next year. the 3yr old was The Man With The Yellow Hat and the one year old was Curious George. MrsMcAngryPants made both costumes…too coo.

I had an idea. ya see…I come from a long line of people that ain’t too big about Christmas. So I fell kinda sad around that time of year. So my idea is to make Halloween MY “christmas.” One note about this is typically I consider the Superbowl to be “Christmas for Guys.”

Thoughts? Any big halloweeners out there?

Took my daughter to Ladd’s Addition and it was PACKED! She got about 3 pounds of candy easy.
