$20 Buys A Great Night With My Kid

moreland.jpg Last night for a little change of pace from the ordinary I decided to take my daughter out on the town. Of course she isn’t old enough to stay out late and party all night (especially on a school night) so we just went for a stroll down the street to see The Bee Movie at the historic Moreland Theater.

I have to interject that one of the things I love about my neighborhood is that it has a theater that’s been open and operating for over 80 years.

We walked up to see the welcoming sign and then in the door to buy our tickets. From there it was just two steps inside to the concessions counter. For $16.25 we got two movie tickets, a medium popcorn, large lemonade and a bag of M&M’s.

Since it wasn’t quite $20 I have enough left over to get a Chai later. I may need it to stay awake as she recounts the movie to me scene by scene.

I haven’t been to the Moreland in the while, but the last time I was there, good times were had. Kudos to the people that run it and work there.

In a while, rather. I think it’s time for me to haul my night owl butt to bed…
