King of Kong

The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters is a documentary of two “men” battling for bragging rights of owning the high score on the arcade game Donkey Kong. One of these guys is from Redmond Washington. I have been waiting patiently for this movie to come to town. All reviews have been exceptional. And I figure, a movie about Donkey Kong? It has to be good.

Now Playing at Laurelhurst:
2735 East Burnside Street

Ugh - still hung over from too much turkey. It’s not my review, but rather one from someone else on my site! Was a great movie, I saw it at cinema21 about 3 months ago. Very much like ‘best in show’, ’spinal tap’, etc, but real!

I saw this movie when it first came to town at Cinema 21 a few months ago. It’s awesome, and if you are remotely interested in classic arcade games, it offers really interesting insight into “that world”.
