Here’s Something To Do Tonight
Tonight is Saturday night. I have to keep repeating this because I have a two-year-old and so under normal circumstances, it could be New Year’s Eve and I’d still be roasting a chicken and reading The Hallo Wiener. Lately, I’ve been spreading my wings a bit and rediscovering how to turn the headlights on in my car. All of it is in the name of writing, of course. Oh, yes dear, I need to go out and drink beer and eat frites because my fellow Metbloggers will be there and we have important writing things to talk about, you won’t mind watching our pride and joy, right? It’s WORK!
So tonight, in the name of writing, I’ll be at the loggernaut reading series. Keith Gessen and Chad Harbach will read with Barry Sanders. Yeah, I don’t know those guys either, but really, unless their names are Nemo and Happy Feet, I’m lost. In fact I know nothing about the loggernaut reading series, and I’m just getting all this from an email a friend forwarded to me in an attempt to acquaint me with what it means to interact with people in my profession.
For you non-writers, there will be dancing and booze too. And my friend is very cool, so if you’re thinking you don’t want to trust a woman whose idea of a big night out is a gelato at LeGong and a beer at Anna Bananas, then know that my friend is very dialed in and if he says it’s cool, it is.
The details: reading starts at 7:30. Dancing starts at 9. Cover $6. Location: 5 SE 3rd Ave. Be there, or be at home reading Winnie the Pooh Counts.

After a hard day working on the master bedroom project, I’m drinking a beer, leaving this comment and getting ready to head out to see The Cave Singers @ The Doug Fir. Enjoy the night!
