Big Beer Friday in Portland
Watching my RSS feeds as I work during the day often brings me news to write about for clients. It also brings me considerable distractions – like the fact I’ll be wandering Portland today picking up some big beers which have surfaced in 22 ounce bottles. Check these babies out:
- Lucky Lab Pavlov’s Russian Imperial Stout (port barrel-aged…port barrel from Abacella winery…sat for a good six months soaking up all the complex flavors of the wine soaked oak.)
- Deschutes Abyss (imperial stout, aged in French oak, pinot noir, and bourbon barrels since March.)
If you get cut off by a Prius near Belmont Station or Lucky Lab on Hawthorne this afternoon, sorry in advance – I’m just on a hunt for good winter beers :)

Plenty of great winter brews out there – not just at Belmont Station… The NW Lab, Amnesia, anyone pouring the Ninkasi Oatis, and on and on.
I would like to get me a bottle of that Abyss…
