Mr. Potter looks more like a hungover garbage collector in a cheap suit than the mayor of any city.

Tell me again Portland, why did you vote for this loser?

Healthnut, try living in the nation’s capital for several years and then come back to see if you have complaints about the mayor. This mayor may not be the best ever, but he hasn’t be busted for crack and that’s where my bar is set.

    I love Mayor Potter!

Ah Health, nothing screams intelligent discussion more than judging a person by the way they look and dress. Obviously we all should have voted on our mayor based on his fashion sense, not his political leadership.

Potter has neither fashion sense (don’t care anyway) nor any political leadership. I think he said it best: "I am irrelevant". Amen Brother. Amen!!!

"he hasn’t be busted for crack and that’s where my bar is set"

Heavens! I poke fun with his idea of what "gels" as he looks in the mirror before he steps out the door in return get a response that says in effect "well at least he does not smoke crack" LOL… seriously that is some funny

Then secondly, DC gets into the idea of Potter and "political leadership" LOL… What political leadership do you speak of? As police chief during a time where violence in Portland escalated? Or when he thought jay-walking was the begining to the end of civilised society and had hoped to really crack down on the jaywalkers? Which one? I’m curious… or do you have some treasure trove of wonderful moments that Potter exampled his "political leadership" that I am unaware of? just curious yo.

Portland it seems, voted for the dolt lame duck Potter based on his homey-ness and low campaign contributions hoping he would be Bud Clark the second or some such thing. Now granted, his opposition was not exactly a shining knight… yet he (if only a one-termer) would have had far better impact with leadership, policy, and accomplishment than this "irrelevant" as Smashing put it in quoting the mayor, joke of a leader.

One more note… my comments in this supposed "intelligent discussion" followed up these posts,

    "Start! …drinking more beer"

    and

    "Amen, pants, A-FUCKING-men."
