I got invited to see fashion designer Pam Ptak Friday night as she gives us an insight into the world of haute couture. Pam Ptak spent three years freelancing for the couture house of Chado Ralph Rucci and will tell stories and show some slides. She will also share her observations on the nature of Ralph’s fashion house and his design philosophy. Ralph Rucci is the only American designer in over 80 years to show his collection at the Paris Haute Couture.

So, for this Project Runway fan, I’m kind of excited to check out the “REAL” world of fashion. The lecture is happening at the Ambridge Event Center, Marquam Room by the Convention center Friday evening Feb 8. It is sponsored by the Portland Chapter of Association of Seweing and Design Professionals. It does cost $25, but that will cover dessert. Check out PCASDP’s website for more information.
