Watching Dinos

Yesterday we took a trip over to OMSI to see what we could see. I’ll tell you first and foremost that I’m easily entertained for hours at OMSI so it’s not like pulling teeth to get me to go, but yesterday I was especially excited to enter those big glass doors to see…

Maybe it’s that the kid in me never quite grew up, but I was every bit as excited as my 6 year old to see the giant bones of creatures long since gone (and their animatronic brethren). While Portland has a ton in the way of sites to see our fair city has always been a bit lacking in the way of Natural History Museums for me, so I was thrilled beyond belief to stand beneath the skeletons of these giants, to watch my daughter chase their footprints, and to marvel at the fossils from enormous to tiny.

My husband was thrilled to find that they make a fairly decent cup of coffee there.

The Dinosaurs: China’s Ancient Giants exhibit is going on now through September 1st. You should stop in a take a look, and while you’re there don’t forget to check out the Submarine, and when the tour guide tells you to cover your ears, listen to him.
