Thanks, Brett. Bloggers, everyone - come on out Wed. night to the Metblog party at the Green Dragon and raise a pint with me to good ol' Russell Shaw. I'll be there to remember my good friend and Metblog colleague. Let's share a laugh and a story about the hardest working blogger in the business. Russ and I both blogged for Metblog so it will be good to see some friends and familiar faces. Hope to see you there. The Green Dragon is at 928 SE 9th Ave.

Sorry to hear of Russell Shaw passing. I have been a reader of the Blogs for just a short time.

These are interesting times we are living in. I joined today, so watch for me in the future. I will be venting my frustrations with everything from the price of oil and city government supporting illegal immigrantion, the economy, we have 600,000 people in Oregon without insurance and our health system is broken when insurance is issued by means of a lottery.

Russ and I were both PDX transplants - he arrived a year or so before I did in '97 - and was quick to dive into the PDX tech scene (preferably over a beer or a decent glass of wine), even as he continued to maintain his prolific connections to the larger technology communities in Silicon Valley and beyond. I know he is deeply missed, both here in PDX and among his colleagues throughout the world.
