Happy St Patrick’s Day

Today is St. Patrick’s day, a day when many an American believe they are Irish and celebrate.  Actually, I would assume most people got their drink on over the weekend and today will be more sedate.  Downtown will be abuzz this afternoon with revelers leaving work early to catch a pint before heading home to watch American Idol on the Tivo.  Then those from the burbs will descend on Kell’s or Paddy’s for music and dancing and beer.  I wonder if the Po Po  will be out in as much force as they were for the “Peace” protest?  That would be an interesting budget line item to see.

This is your last chance to act like someone from a different land until Cinco de Mayo people, so head on out and get Irished.

St. Patrick’s Day is for idiots. Please please please let me pay a $20 cover so I can wait 45 minutes to get served a $6 thimbleful of beer on the off chance that a drunken butterface with Bailey’s puke breath will go down on me.

And I hope those green glow-in-the-dark beer cups give you cancer.

Daaaaaaave. Welcome back. Good to see your vitriol again.

    I love the term butterface.

I can’t believe you people made me sign up and use a *gasp* valid email just to dish out periodic abuse and harrassment.

And what’s up with the comments page? Can’t you make your Metblogs header a link back to the home page? I have to back completely out of comments to get back to the main page or else re-type the address.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand: I once stole a "Kiss me, I’m Irish" button from Ramblin’ Rod.

    You said it daaaaave.

I prefer soda bread and stew at home instead of z100 beer tents.
