One quick addition — I did that, and they quit. So it isn’t just hearsay! :-) I had to call back once, and they explained that we had gotten a new delivery guy, so they clued him in.

Hi! I had this problem with FoodDay too, but a friend told me that if you call them up (Oregonian circulation) and *really* insist, they’ll stop delivering it. Use the term "litter" if you want, since the way people got them to change their policy was by threatening them somehow about littering their yards with paper. :-)

You don’t happen to live in NE do you??? Hahahaha! There’s a place down the street where the walkway looks VERY much as you described.
I’ve noticed that banks and credit cards are now asking if one would prefer an e-statement to cut down on paper usage. The yellow page people should do the same – or does advertising in the paper yellow pages cost less??

I dunno…. it just seems like there are so many solutions to this problem and no one’s using them!
