Test driving

Got a new camera for Father’s Day. Also got a new car this week. As The Missus is working today, I thought I’d take both out and see what they could do…

If you’re interested in seeing my amateurish pictures of Portland from many angles (all focussed on Downtown), you can look at them after the jump.

Move your mouse over the picture to see where it’s taken from.

My dog Ollie, glad I'm done goofing off and back home to pay attention to her

So, on to the best/worst for today. My nifty little camera only came with a 32 mb SD card. Where are the best/worst places in town to buy better ones? Rate in terms of value, service, and quality of overall experience.

My friend JLowe raves over Office Depot. Although I have a friend who works at Radio Shack, I have to say that I don’t always feel like the prices there are competitive, so I won’t be shopping there. Any other insights?

I bought a 512mb Kingston compactflash card for my new canon a95 for only $30 _before_ a $5 rebate from Dell.

Thank you!!! Thats the one thing this group of blogs needs is more pictures. The words are great, but the photos are even better. I can’t tell you how more loyal people are to blogs with pictorial content than just words.

I just got a job offer out to portland and you my friend may have just help cement the move. Beautiful city.

Glad you liked the shots. I, too, have thought it’d be nice if more Portland pics showed up here, which was part of why I put them up. We definitely have a beautiful town here; glad I helped you make up your mind.
