Come to BarCamp

I’m excited. Portland is hosting its first BarCamp this weekend over at CubeSpace. It’s going to be awesome.

For those who don’t know, BarCamp is an ad-hoc technology unconference. A bunch of geeks descend on a location, figure out a schedule on the fly, and talk about the things they’re passionate about. Unlike a traditional conference setting, there are no spectators at BarCamp, only participants. It’s tech + geek + culture. It’s the event for the Portland tech community, produced BY the Portland tech community. It’s interesting topics, cool people, great networking opportunities, wifi, and free food.

Still confused? Just trust me, if you’re any kind of geek who’s passionate about what you do, you really owe it yourself to experience this. Just add your name to the wiki, drum up some presentation ideas (either that you want to lead, or that you want to hear) and come on down.

If you’re going to be there, drop a comment.
