President Dan Bernstine Leaves PSU

I just found out that Dan Bernstine, the president of Portland State University for the past 10 years, is leaving after this weekend to become the President and CEO of the Law School Admission Council in Pennsylvania. I was bummed to hear it because I was really impressed with what he’s done for Portland State since taking over as President.

I was very fortunate to have worked with him in the University Relations office for four years, and got to know a very gracious, and effective leader. There’s a good article at Oregon Live that really gives you a sense of what the man has accomplished and what he’s like as a person. I have heard criticism about him through the years, but I think that’s to be expected for anyone in his position.

If you want to read about one of our favorite conspiracy theorists who used to come visit us in the President’s Office you can read it here here. You’ll learn all about Satan’s Pets.

I wish Dan the best of luck in Pennsylvania. He’ll be missed around here, at least by me.
