My TriMet twitter feed just informed me that that the Lowell Extension of the Portland Streetcar to the infamous South Waterfront opened today. You know what that means? Free rides on the streetcar through sunday and free rides on that piece of transportation that Portlanders either love or love to hate… the TRAM (which is at least more fun to ride than the streetcar).

For the truly hardcore lovers of public transportation *cough-transitnerds-cough*, there’s a bit of a party for the new extension at the Lowell and Bond stop with refreshments and entertainment kicking off at 11am today.
