A Few Clicks to a Clearer Conscience

Are your unpaid library fines keeping you down? Do you find yourself passing your local library, wanting to go in, but living in fear of the librarians all-knowing gaze as they glance at your account and see your dirty little secret? You want to pay them, but you just can’t face the thought of those sweet arbiters of knowledge knowing the details of your indiscretion. (Really, they’d probably be quite happy to see you making good, instead of shrugging it off until next time, and not glare at you at all.)

Fear not, dear citizen, for the internet is here to help. The Multnomah County Library System now accepts online payments for fines and charges on your account. Even if you’re not living in fear of embarrassment, this system is also great news for those of us with busy schedules, people who like to sit down and pay all of their bills at once, and anyone who still gets a kick out of being able to perform financial transactions in their underwear.
