Did you get your kicker check yet?

I have an Amazon cart pre-loaded with the iPod Touch I’m buying for myself with the spoils of my kicker check – but I’m totally superstitious and don’t want to order it until I have the check itself in my hot little hand. But I have been wanting that Touch forever and a day already, and the suspense is making me crazy.

Sooooo…why don’t you help make me even crazier than I already am, won’t you?
If you’ve gotten your check, will you report back below in the comments, please?

(Yeah, yeah, yeah – I’m also going to save some of the money and donate some of the money. But I really, really, really want that lustworthy digital device and have been a very very good girl this year, so I’m going to treat myself …)

Update, Friday am: This O story seems to confirm what some of our commenters allude to – the checks will be mailed at the possible minute before they’re legally required to go out, and they’ll be dated to match that drop-dead date. Apparently, some people accidentally got their checks early – only to have them bounce after deposit since the check was postdated. Guess the state mails out their bill payments just like I do…!

No, not yet. And I haven’t even begun to think about how to spend it. I want the entire rush to happen all at once: the pleasure lighting up my eyes when I open the envelope, the realization that I can spend it, the fantasy of how, all in one fell swoop.

the state pays it’s bills like we do – by law the kicker check must be mailed by DEC. 15th – they eluded on the news the check’s would be mailed after thanksgiving to boost the economy – this was falls news to confuse us i guess or bad reporting. when I called the state to ask questions they responded that they would be mailed soon and by law they have to be mailed by the 15th. now as it approaches the 15th everyday – i called again “where is my checker.” the response was “no kicker checks have been mailed, by law they have to be mailed by DEC. 15th, so on the 14th or 15th there will probably be a mass mailing from Salem.” in other words they got our money but are not mailing them out until the last minute – just like me and my credit card bills. so relax I’m broke as hell and i need that check too! but that’s the real deal so probably by DEC. 17th we will all have are greedy little hands on that money! and i cant wait!

Nope no check here, and what I’m doing with my big check is maybe getting a half tank of gas for my truck.

Dear Betsy your comment “Apparently, some people accidentally got their checks early – only to have them bounce after deposit since the check was postdated.” The state is not the only ones that do that my mom got her first ssi retirement check and it was postdated 4ish days so the state can do it with no trouble as well as the “government, ssi” but heavens to betsy if you or I do it our butts are in the meat grinder for the next 6 months or more.

Hmmm… We got our kicker check today and it is dated 12/6, so that makes me think I can deposit it. According to this article (http://www.katu.com/news/12246761.html), only the checks that were postdated were being denied, so we should be safe…
